Shinjuku Kitamura Camera

Description:
This project visualizes the in-store experience of Kitamura Camera in Shinjuku through motion graphics. It captures the emotional journey of entering the store, choosing a camera/lens, and becoming part of a photography community, focusing on excitement and connection rather than just products.

Deliverables:
2D Motion Graphic

WHAT IS SHINJUKU KITAMURA CAMERA?

Kitamura Camera Shinjuku is a multi-floor photography store in Shinjuku Tokyo, offering everything from the latest digital cameras to rare vintage film models in a gallery-like space.

CHALLENGE:
The challenge was to translate a physical retail experience into a visual narrative accessible to both beginners and photography enthusiasts. It required balancing abstraction and clarity while conveying both the practical process of selecting equipment and the emotional impact of finding a creative partner.

CONCEPT:
The experience is framed as an dreamy-inspired journey, where choosing a camera and lens feels like selecting a companion for an adventure. Abstract motion graphics guide viewers through the process, turning a experience into an exciting and meaningful milestone.

STORYLINE:

  1. Different excitment on every floor
  2. Staff with exceptional camera knowledge
  3. Pattern creates space
  4. Every lens has story
  5. Unlimited trail/ find best combination
  6. A hub of gear and community
